December 29
• (12:01 AM ET): Selection order updated ... With the 2014 NFL regular schedule now in the books, the first twenty selections at the 2015 have now been settled as per the updated first-round selection order for the upcoming draft. The final twelve picks will be settled over the course of the playoffs with the losers of next weekends wild card games picking 21st thru 24th; the losers of the conference semi-finals will fill the 25th thru 28th picks; the losing conference finalists will pick 29th and 30th, while the Super Bowl loser will pick 31st and the Super Bowl winner 32nd.
• Bowl season continues ... There are two more games on today's college football bowl schedule including one with another of those really intriguing head-to-head match-ups between one of the countries top pass rushers going up against some quality blockers. Here's a quick preview of who to watch in Monday's bowl action with an eye toward the 2015 draft.
• Not wasting any time ... Having acquired the first and second picks overall respectively at the 2015 draft, Tampa Bay and Tennessee will both have contingents at Thursday's Rose Bowl game in Los Angeles on Thursday to check out the opposing QBs Marcus Mariota of Oregon and Florida State's Jameis Winston, who just also happen to be the top two-rated passers for the 2015 draft. And in both cases the team's GM - Jason Licht of Tampa Bay and Tennessee's Ruston Webster - will be leading those delegations. Of course, there are no guarantees that either team will ultimately take a QB with their opening round pick, although its hard not to make the case that each team has a hug need at the position.
  December 28
• (7:30 PM): Top 20 picks set, almost ... With just one game to go in the NFL regular schedule, the first 20 picks at the 2015 draft have now been pretty much set. Tampa Bay made it interesting, but in the end lost 23-20 to New Orleans in one of today's early games to clinch the #1 pick at the 2015 draft. Meanwhile, Tennessee and Jacksonville also lost and will have the second and third picks respectively this year, followed by Oakland at #4, Washington at #5, the NY Jets at #6, Chicago at #7, Atlanta at #8, the Giants at #9, St. Louis at #10, Minnesota at #11, Cleveland at #12, New Orleans at #13, Miami at #14, San Francisco at #15, and Houston at #16. If Cincinnati defeats Pittsburgh later this evening Kansas City will pick 17th, followed by San Diego at #18, Cleveland, with Buffalo's #1 pick, at #19 and Philadelphia at #20. A win by the Steelers over the Bengals, though, and San Diego and Kansas City would flip the 17th and 18th picks with the Chargers selecting 17th and KC 18th. The full first-round selection order will be posted after tonight's game between .
• (10:00 AM): Regular season comes to end; top 20 draft spots to be decided � By the end of the day we will know the dozen teams that have qualified for the NFL�s postseason as the regular season wraps up. We�ll also know the order for the first 20 picks at the 2015 draft. Tampa Bay can wrap up the top pick with a loss to New Orleans in one of today�s early games. Tennessee could also finish with a 2-14 record with a loss to Indianapolis, but the Buccaneers have already clinched the strength-of-schedule tie breaker with the Titans. However, whether either wins or loses today, Tampa Bay and Tennessee are guaranteed one of the first two picks this coming April 30th as both have considerably weaker SOSs than any of the three teams with 3 wins. For the record, Jacksonville, which would have had the 3rd pick were the draft held last week, will be at Houston later today, while the Jets which would have picked 4th will be at Miami; #5 Oakland will be at Denver; Washington which would have had the 6th pick hosts Dallas, and #7 Chicago will be at Minnesota. All of those games will be at 1 PM ET with the exception of the Raiders at Denver. The full, updated weekly draft order will be posted after tonight�s Cincinnati-Pittsburgh game.
• Canes RB to enter draft, others stay � Miami junior RB Duke Johnson is expected to announce at a noon press conference that he will be entering the 2015 draft. The 5-9, 205-pound Johnson who ran for over 1,600 yards this past season and is expected to be a second-round pick at the upcoming draft. The NFL s still waiting to hear from several other Miami underclassmen about whether they plan to enter the draft including LT Ereck Flowers who has a chance to be one of the first 2-3 offensive linemen off the board this coming spring. At the same time, thanks to long-time GBN correspondent LP for the heads up as Southern Mississippi junior DT Rakeem Nunez-Roches has announced that he plans to enter the 2015 draft. The 6-2, 305-pound Nunez-Roches was an All-CUSA First-Teamer this past season in which he had 58 tackles including 14 for loss and three sacks; he�s considered to be a mid-round prospect for this year�s draft. Meanwhile, Rutgers junior WR Leonte Carroo announced after the Knights bowl win over North Carolina that he will return for his senior season. Same for Notre Dame G/T Nick Martin who had been considering entering the draft. Underclassmen have until January 15th to file paperwork with the NFL to be included in this year�s draft.
• Other college comings and goings � Nothing has yet been announced formally, but it appears to be close to a done deal that Jim Harbaugh will be coaching his last game in San Francisco later today and will be moving on to take over the Michigan program. Meanwhile, Florida junior QB Jeff Driskel is believed to be on the verge of transferring to Duke for his final year when he would get a chance to be tutored by Blue Devils head coach David Cutcliffe, one of the most noted QB-gurus in the game. Driskel, who would be eligible immediately because of the NCAA�s graduate transfer rule, is thought to be a mid-round prospect for the 2016 draft, but has the tools to move higher with a good senior season. North Carolina junior WR Quinshad Davis underwent surgery after suffeing a broken leg during the Tar Heels� 40-21 loss to Rutgers in the Quick Lane Bowl and will miss spring practice, but team officials expect him to fully recover and be available when camp begins next summer. The 6-4 Davis had 41 catches for 470 yards and six touchdown receptions as a junior and his 21 career TDs shares the school record with former first rounder Hakeem Nicks.

• (10:00 AM): Gopher TE to enter draft ... Minnesota redshirt sophomore TE Maxx Williams has reportedly decided to enter the 2015 draft where he is expected to be the first player off the board at the position. The 6-4, 250-pound Williams, whose father Brian was a first round pick pick by the Giants in 1989, emerged as a big-play threat for the Golden Gophers this past season when he led the team with 29 receptions for almost 500 yards and 7 TDs.
• Top RB headed to draft � Georgia head coach has confirmed one of the worst kept secrets in college football earlier today when he reported that start UGA junior RB Todd Gurley will be entering the upcoming draft despite tearing an ACL in mid-November. At the time of the injury, Gurley was considered to be the best player in college football at any position. At that time, Gurley was also considered to be a potential top ten prospect for the upcoming draft, although he�s no longer likely to go that early after the injury. Meanwhile, the Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that Utah junior OT Jeremiah Poutasi is planning to forego his senior season and enter the 2015 draft. According to the report, Poutasi has not yet hired an agent, but that there is a "zero percent chance" that he would return to the Utes in the wake of considerable upheaval on the program�s staff. The 6-5, 320-pound Pourtasi played tackle for the Utes� but is considered to be a better prospect at OG.
• WVU QB to give up football � In a bit of a surprise, West Virginia QB Clint Trickett has announced he is retiring from football due to concussions and will not play in the school's bowl game. Trickett, who had been considered to be a potential premium free agent after the 2015 draft, says he has suffered five concussions in the past 14 months, including a couple he hid from team trainers.

• One RB in draft; one out ... South Carolina junior RB Mike Davis, a second-day prospect for the upcoming draft, has confirmed that he will be turning pro this winter after the Gamecocks' bowl game. On the other hand, Arkansas junior RB Jonathan Williams has announced that he will be coming back for his senior season next fall. Meanwhile, enigmatic Louisville RB Mike Dyer will reportedly miss the Cardinals' bowl game next week because of academics.
  December 23
• Early star game thoughts ... According to GBN Associate Editor and Chief Scout Pigskin Paul Guillemette its never too early to start thinking about next month's all-star games. And given that those games are now barely a month away Pigkin weighs in with some preliminary thoughts on the all-star front.
• ASU WR enters draft � Arizona State junior WR Jaelen Strong has confirmed that he will be skipping his final season of college eligibility and entering the upcoming draft. The 6-3, 215-pound Strong, who All-American type season this past fall when he caught 75 passes for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns, could get some late first round prospect this coming spring.

• (5:30 PM): One DB out for LSU; one in ... While nothing has been officially announced to date, sources close to the LSU program are reporting that junior CB Jalen Collins has decided to leave school early and enter the 2015 draft. The 6-1, 200-pound Collins is a second-day prospect for the upcoming draft. At the same time, though, it appears as if Tigers' junior FS Jalen Mills has decided to stay in school for his senior campaign next fall.
• No charges for FSU QB in school probe ... Christmas came a little early for Florida State redshirt sophomore QB Jameis Winston as he reportedly will not be charged by a school ethics investigation stemming from an incident in which he was accused of sexually assaulting a female student last year, although the accuser can still appeal. Winston was also not charged by police in the incident, although there have been accusations that the investigation by local police wasn't particularly rigourous. If he had been found guilty, Winston could have faced disciplinary action ranging from a reprimand to expulsion. A guilty verdict in the enquiry also would have been problematic for NFL with early picks at the 2015 draft. Winston is considered to be one of two potential elite prospects at the position for this year's draft, but the whole incident has been a cloud on his grade. Winston will still have to address the issue at pre-draft interviews, but the fact that it now appears there will never have actually been a conviction may make it easier for team's to take with an early selection.
  December 21
• (7:30 PM): Bucs inch closer to #1 pick ... After losing to Green Bay to drop to 2-13 on the year in one of today's early games, Tampa Bay could wrap up the top pick overall at the 2015 draft with a loss next week when they host New Orleans in their season finale. However, Tennessee, which lost on Thursday is still technically in the picture even if the Titans also lose their final game next weekend when they host Indianapolis. With Oakland winning its third game this afternoon, the Buccaneers and Titans are guranteed to pick no lower than second. Meanwhile, Meanwhile, if the draft were held this week, Jacksonville would have the third pick, followed by Oakland at #4, the NY Jets at #5, and Washington at #6 with Chicago moving up to the 7th spot. As usual, the full first-round selection order will be updated after tomorrow's Monday night game.
• Boise RB heads to draft � Boise State junior RB Jay Ajayi has announced that he will skip his senior season and enter the 2015 draft. The 5-11, 215-pound Ajayi who was second in the nation with 2,225 yards from scrimmage, including almost 1,700 yards on the ground, and tied for first with 29 total Tds, is an underrated all-around back who should get some consideration in the latter part of this year�s second round.
• (12:01 AM): When winter comes can the draft be far behind! Hang in there guys!
• Homecooking to spice up draft chase � With just weeks left to go in the NFL regular schedule, the early picks at the 2015 draft are still very much up for grabs. Tampa Bay, which held the #1 pick coming into the week, could drop down behind Tennessee with a win this week, but the 2-12 Buccaneers are in tough this week despite playing at home as they�ll be hosting Green Bay. Tennessee has already fallen to 2-13 after losing on Thursday night to Jacksonville, which had come into the week with the 3rd pick. Meanwhile, Oakland, which had the 4th pick coming into the week, will be hosting Buffalo and with a loss to the Bills could move up a spot. At the same time, the New York Jets, which held the 6th pick, will be playing their home game with New England. For the moment, though, the Jets have moved up to the 5th pick after Washington stunned Philadelphia on Saturday. As usual, the full first rounds election order will be updated after the Monday night game.
• Irish OG forced to hang up cleats � Notre Dame G/T Christian Lombard has reportedly been forced to give up football because of a back problem. Lombard, who had been considered to be a mid-to-late round prospect for the 2015, underwent surgery to correct a bulging disk in his back at the end of October.
  December 19
• Titans edge closer to a top pick ... Tennessee lost its 9th straight game of the season as the Titans lost 21-13 to Jacksonville in a battle of bottom-feeders on the final Thursday night game of the year. Barring an upset next weekend when the Titans host division champion Indianapolis, Tennessee appears to be close to locking up one of the top two picks. However, to get the #1 pick the Tians will still need some help from Tampa Bay which is also stuck on two wins but has played a weaker schedule than Tennessee and would have the top pick were the draft held this week. In particular, the Buccaneers would have to win at least of their final two games for Tennessee to jump ahead of them and while Tampa Bay plays both of its final two games of the year, they are in tough with Green Bay coming in this weekend and New Orleans, which could be playing for the division crown, next weekend. Meanwhile, Jacksonville, which wraps up the season next weekend in Houston, is now in the mix for the 4-5-6 picks with Washington and the Jets.
  December 18
• (12:01 AM): Projection updated With the regular season in college football now in the books the GBN 2015 first-round projection has been updated.
• Are you ready for some football !! Its a football programmers dream match-up! Just two weeks to go in the NFL schedule with 5 of the 8 divisions still very much up in the air and the final Thursda night game of the year brings together a pair of 2-12 teams when Tennessee plays at Jacksonville later tonight. At least there will be plenty of draft implications later this evening as Tennessee would have the 2nd pick overall were the draft held this week, while Jacksonville would have the 3rd selection and the loser will remain very much in the hunt for the #1 pick.
• Bears bench QB Cutler ... In the wake of what may be the mother of all dsfunctional seasons, Chicago has benched starting QB Jay Cutler and will replace him with journeyman Jimmy Clausen when they play Detroit on the weekend. The move has led to speculation that the Bears could look to either release or trade Cutler once the season is done despite the fact that they just extended him last winter. Whatever they ultimately do there will be some salary cap ramifications for the Bears although there are several teams that could be interested given that the QB pickings at the 2015 draft are somewhat slim. Stay tuned!
  December 17
• (3:30 PM): Top corner may have serious knee injury ... Yahoo sports! is reporting that Oregon CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, one of the top prospects at the position for the 2015 draft, sustained what is being descriobed as a serious knee injury during practice Tuesday and there are fears that he may have torn an ACL. Needless to say if that is the case, Ekpre-Olomu will miss next month's college playoffs; it will also most assuredly cloud his immediate draft prospects as he likely will not be able to work this spring and may very well not be available when the season opens next fall.
• (11:30 AM): Former Husky CB headed to draft ... Several sources including Yahoo Sports and NFL.com are reporting that former Washington CB Marcus Peters has opted to enter the 2015 draft. Peters is considered to be one of the top 2-3 prospects at the position on talent alone, however, his draft ultimate draft future has been seriously clouded by the fact that he was dismissed from the football team last month after repeated run-ins with the coaching staff.

• (7:00 PM): MSU QB to return; DE �iffy� � Citing the fact that he still has �unfinished� business at school, Michigan State junior QB Connor has reportedly decided to stay with the program for his senior season next fall. Cook had considered entering the 2015 draft if he were rated as a potential top ten pick, but right now he looks to be more like a late first or even early second round candidate. Meanwhile, MSU DE Shilique Calhoun is being quoted as saying he still hasn�t ruled out returning for his final year of eligibility next fall. Calhoun came into the season rated a top 10-15 prospect, but like Cook now appears to be carrying more a late first, early second round grade.
• (12:01 AM): Big Board tweaked � With the 2014 college football season now in the books the GBN Big Board ranking the top 150 prospects for the upcoming draft has been updated.
• Prospects profiles from ... For all intents and purposes the college football season ended last week, but that hasn't slowed down GBN Chief Scout Pigskin Paul Guillemette who weighs in on a number of prospects who caught his eye.
• Pair of first-round prospects accept Star bowl bid � There are a couple of potential first-round picks at the 2015 draft among the latest group of players that have accepted invitations to net month�s Senior Bowl in Mobile. In fact, West Virginia WR Kevin White and LSU G/T La�el Collins, both of whom will be in Mobile next month, have been whispered as possible top 15 prospects this coming April 30th. Also accepting invitations to this year�s Senior Bowl include Florida State TE NickO�Leary, Missouri DE Markus Golden, and just to make sure people are paying attention, the �other� Kevin White who plays corner at TCU. Here is the full list of players who have accepted invites to this year�s Senior Bowl which will be played January 24th in Mobile with practices set to start on Tuesday January 20th. And the GBN is pleased to confirm that we�ll be there as our credentials have been approved!
  December 15
• (5:00 PM): Auburn WR to enter draft � Auburn junior WR Sammie Coates announced at a press conference earlier this afternoon that he will be leaving school and entering the 2015 draft where he projects to be a second day selection. The 6-2, 205-pound Coates, who is one of the fastest receivers in the country, averaged 24 yards per catch this fall, although his route-running and hands need a lot of work. Meanwhile, Auburn is still waiting to hear from fellow junior WR D'haquille Williams who is also mulling his pro prospects and could ultimately be the better prospect than Coates.
• (9:00 AM): Cards FS to enter draft � Ball-hawking Louisville redshirt sophomore FS Gerod Holliman has reportedly announced that he will be entering the 2015 draft where he is projected to be one of the first 2-3 safeties off the board. The 6-0, 205 Holliman, a consensus All-American who won the Jim Thorpe award given annually to the outstanding DB in the country, tied the NCAA's single-season record for interceptions this season with 14. However, while he�s a terrific pass defender with great hands and instincts, Holliman isn�t all that physical a tackler in space which could keep him out of this year�s opening round and drop him to the second day.
  December 14
• (9:00 AM): Duck QB wins Heisman � Pretty much as expected Oregon junior QB Marcus Mariota was awarded this year�s Heisman Trophy at last night�s annual event at New York�s Downtown Club. Mariota beat out Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon and Alabama WR Amari Cooper for the award. Mariota is expected be one of the first 2-3 players off the board at the 2015 draft.
• Dawgs get key quartet back � Great news for the Georgia program as four top underclassmen including redshirt sophomore OLB Leonard Floyd and juniors OLB Jordan Jenkins, LT John Theus and WR Malcolm Mitchell have all reportedly told head coach Mark Richt that they will be back at school next fall. Floyd, in particular, had been thought of as a likely first-round pick this year, while the other three were had second-day potential. Georgia, though, is still expected to lose star RB Todd Gurley to the NFL draft despite the fact he tore an ACL late this season.
  December 13
• (11:00 AM): Bedlam star dismissed after domestic issue � Oklahoma State junior WR/KR Tyreek Hill has now been kickedoff the team after he was arrested earlier this week on a felony count of domestic violence after and an incident involving his girlfriend who ended up in hospital for treatment. According to local police, the victim said that Hill hit her in the face and stomach and choked her after a verbal altercation escalated. Hill was the hero in the Cowboys win over state-rival Oklahoma last Saturday when he returned a punt for a TD in the game�s final minute that sent the game into overtime. Hill, the Big XII indoor 200M champion in track, had been thought of as a potential second-day pick at the 2015 draft if he opted to turn pro this winter, but this incident obviously clouds the issue.

• (12:01 AM): Checking coaching status, part deux ... With just three weeks to go in the NFL regular schedule the clock is starting to tick on the future of a number of coaches around the NFL. And GBN Chief Scout Pigskin Paul Guillemette weighs in with some thoughts on the coaching situation of AFC teams.
  December 11
• (2:00 PM): Bruins QB headed to draft � UCLA junior QB Brett Hundley still hasn�t said anything officially, but Bruins� head coach Jim Mora has confirmed that the team�s Alamo Bowl date with Kansas State early next month will be the player�s last game at the school as he will be entering the 2015 draft. Hundley is generally considered to be the 3rd QB in this year�s draft field behind Marcus Mariota of Oregon and Florida State�s Jameis Winston , although he is still not thought to be a lock to be an opening round selection. Meanwhile, Alabama offensive co-ordinator Lane Kiffen has been quoted publicly as saying he does not expect junior WR Amari Cooper, a top 5-10 prospect for this year�s draft, to be back next fall. At the same time, ball-hawking Tulane junior CB Lorenzo Doss has declared for this year�s draft. Doss, who has 15 career interceptions, is considered to be a possible late second day pick for the upcoming draft.
  December 10
• (3:00 PM): UVa DE enters draft ... Vurginia DE Eli Harold has announced that he will be leaving school and entering the 2015 draft. The 6-4, 245-pound Harold, who figures to also get looks from 3-4 teams as a rush OLB, had 15.5 sacks over the past couple of years, as well as 15 other tackles for loss and should get some mid-to-late round interest this spring.
• (1:00 PM): Star RB declares for draft ... Wisconsin junior RB Melvin Gordon confirmed that he will be entering the 2015 draft during a radio interview earlier today. Gordon one of three Heisman Trophy finalists this year after running for over 2,300 yards and 29 TDs this season, is currently rated as one of the top 1-2 RBs available for the upcoming draft and is considered to be a possible mid-to-late first round pick this coming spring.
• Top WR/TE; FS turning pro � Underclassmen have until January 15th to declare their intention to enter the draft and most don�t until at least after their team�s bowl game. However, for players on teams that failed to make the post-season there is no time like the present. And its no surprise, for example, that Michigan junior WR Devin Funchess will be entering this year�s draft where he figures to get late first or early second round consideration. The 6-5, 230-pound played TE his first two years with Michigan, but switched full-time to WR this season when he caught 62 passes for over 700 yards and 4 scores. Meanwhile, Syracuse junior FS Durrell Eskridge has also announced that he will be turning pro this winter. The 6-2, 205-pound Eskridge, who had 182 career tackles including 68 in 2014, is rated as a possible third or fourth round pick. Also thanks to reader LP for the heads up as Division II WR Lemar Durant of Simon Fraser announced late last month that he will be entering the draft. Durant, a 6-2, 230-pound Canadian with reported sub-4.5 speed originally signed with Nevada but did not play in his season there before transferring back home to SFU. Durant had 175 career receptions at SFU for almost 2,400 yards and 28 scores.
• More injury woes for top pick � The season is already over Texans for Houston OLB Jadeveon Clowney, the first player selected at the 2014 draft, but the news still keeps on getting worse. Clowney was placed on injured reserve earlier this month because of a lingering knee issue, but now reportedly will have to undergo microfracture surgery which could keep him sidelined for at least 9 months and make his availability for the start of the 2015 season somewhat problematic. And while several current NFL players have made successful returns to action after undergoing this type of procedure, there are others that never got close to getting back to 100%.
  December 9
• Draft stuff starting to arrive � An early Xmas present as we received a copy of Palmer Hughes� Draft Notebook with profiles of the top 300 or so prospects for the 2015 draft as well as baseline data on hundreds of others. Worth a look for the college bowl season as well as the start of the draft testing process. Meanwhile, for those that haven�t seen it yet, Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has a nice early overview of the 2015 draft.
  December 7
• (7:30 PM): Bucs move to #1 ... With Oakland upsetting San Francisco in the Battle by the Bay for its second win of the year there will clearly be a major reshuffling at the top of this week's selection order for the opening round of the 2015 draft. However, with three weeks to go in the regular season there is still a lot of sorting out to do as 5 teams will be tied with 2-11 records. Because they have the weakest strength of schedule of the 5, Tampa Bay would have the first pick if the draft were held this week, followed by Tennessee, Jacksonville, the NY Jets and Oakland, now all the way down to the 5th pick. Meanwhile, the next three picks are unchanged with Washington at #6, followed by the Giants at #7 and Carolina at #8. The change among the latter two picks, though, is that with both the Giants and Panthers winning this week the chances of either moving into the top 5 even if they were to go 0-3 over their final three games went from slim to pretty close to none. The full first-round selection order for this week will be posted after tomorrow night's Monday night game.
• (1:00 PM): Bucks in; B12 out of college playoffs ... While the world waits for the start of the NFL Sunday games, the college pairings for the first ever 4-team playoffs were announced and it will be #1 ranked Alabama against Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl and Oregon against defending national champion Florida State in the Rose. Both games are on January 1st with the winners to meet for the national championship on January 12th in Arlington. The big loser on the day was the Big XII whose strategy of having no champion backfired as neither Baylor nor TCU made the final four (see below).

• (3:00 PM): Weekly prospect profiles ... Its championship week in college football with all the major conference titles - not to mention those 4 national playoff spots - up for grabs. Here's a quick rundown of the top players to watch in this weekend's big games with an eye to the 2015 draft.
• Top pick on IR � Houston has placed DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney, the first player selected at the 2014 draft, on injured reserve with a lingering knee issue. Clowney is expected to undergo surgery to clean up from an earlier surgery for a meniscus tear. In the end it was a washout year for Clowney who played in only four games this fall during which he had 7 tackles and no sacks as he dealt with a concussion and a pre-season sports hernia injury along with the knee issues.
• Pair to miss conference title games � Oregon has confirmed that All-conference C Hroniss Grasu will miss tonight�s PAC-12 title game because of a lingering leg injury. Grasu, who is generally considered to be one of the top 2-3 prospects at the position for the 2015 draft, has been sidelined since early last month. Meanwhile, Florida State RB Karlos Williams will not play when the Seminoles play Georgia Tech in the ACC championship game tomorrow night. Williams, a mid-to-late round prospect for this year�s draft, suffered a concussion in last week�s win over Florida.

• Canes TE hurts knee� Miami TE Clive Walford, who became the school�s all-time leading receiver at the position in last weekend�s game with Pitt. Unfortunately, Walford, a mid-round prospect for the upcoming draft, later suffered an injured knee in the game, although there are conflicting reports as to the severity. One report suggests he tore an MCL which will require surgery and require up to two months of rehab, however, there are conflicting reports that the injury is actually not that severe. Stay tuned.

• ‘Noles QB to face hearing … Florida State redshirt sophomore QB Jameis Winston will face a code-of-conduct hearing later today to answer questions about an alleged sexual assault back in December 2012. No charges were ever filed, but the school is conducting a title IX investigation in the wake of complaints about how the original allegations were handled. The hearing will be handled by former Florida Supreme Court chief justice Major Harding, although a ruling isn't expected until January. If found guilty, Winston could face punishments ranging from a reprimand or probabtion to expulsion, although it is unlikely that any final decision will be reached before the national championship game on January 12th. Florida State, the defending national champions, are also college football‘s only remaining unbeaten and will almost surely qualify for the 4-team playoff with a win over Georgia Tech in the ACC title game on Saturday. What isn’t as clear is how the NFL will react if Winston is found quilty given the current sensitivity to domestic violence issues. Winston is considered to be a top 5-10 prospect for the 2015 draft.
• Gator RB to enter draft … Florida junior RB Matt Jones has reportedly decided to leave school with a year of eligibility remaining and enter the 2015 draft. The 6-1, 230-pound Jones led the Gators with 817 yards and 6 TDs this fall after missing the second of the 2013 season with a knee injur. Jones is considered to be a mid-to-late round prospect for the upcoming draft. He is also the 3rd Gators’ junior to enter this year’s draft as both DE Dante Fowler and OG Tyler Moore stated that the would be leaving school this winter in the wake of head coach Wil Muschamp’s announcement that he would be leaving at the end of the season. Underclassmen have until January 15th to apply to the NFL for early entry to the 2015 draft.
• Senior Bowl, Shriners continues to add prospects … The Senior Bowl has announced the names of a third round of players who have been invited to this year’s game in Mobile. The latest group of 22 players invited to this year’s game includes Washington NT Danny Shelton, a legitimate first-round prospect who is the highest rated player to be invited to the Senior Bowl announced so far. At the same time, other invitees announced this week included FS Derron Smith and WR Josh Harper of Fresno State; WRs Phillip Dorsett of Miami and Michigan State‘s Tony Lippett; Minnesota RB David Cobb; OTs Darryl Williams of Oklahoma and Ty Sambrailo of Colorado State; Virginia FSAnthony Harris and Oregon State Steve Nelson. Here is the full list of players who have accepted invotations to this year's Senior Bowl which will be played on January 24th with practices scheduled to start on January 20th. Meanwhile, players who have accepted invitations to this year's East-West Shrine game include QBsCody Fajardo of Nevada, Georgia's Hutson Mason and Taylor Heiicke of old Dominion; LSU RBs Terrance Magee and Kenny Hilliard; WRs Austin Hill of Arizona, Washington's Kasom Williams and Washington State's Vince Mayle, the nation's leading receiver; OT Brett Boyko of UNLV; DE Martin Ifedi of Memphis; DE/OLB Zach Hodges of Harvard; OLB Jake Ryan of Michigan and safeties Tevin McDonald of Eastern Washington and TCU's Sam Carter. The Shrine game will be played the week before the Senior Bowl in St. Petersburg.

• (10:00 PM): Stamps claim 102nd Grey Cup upnorth ... Calgary held off a late rally by Hamilton to win the 2014 Grey Cup game 20-16. For just a moment, though, Hamilton thought it had one of the biggest upsets in Grey Cup history when former Kansas State KR Brandon Banks returned a punt 90-yards for what would have been a game-winning TD with just 35 seconds to play, but the play was nullified by a penalty and the clock eventually ran out on the Ti-Cats. Calgary QB Bo Levi Mitchell, who played collegiately at Eastern Washington, was named the game's MVP.
• (4:30): Jags win shuffles top of draft order ... The euphoria of that first win of the year last weekend didn't last long in Oakland as the Raiders were crushed 52-0 in St. Louis in one of today's early games. Meanwhile, it looked like Jacksonville, which came into the week sitting on the #1 pick in the 2015, might be in for a similar fate when the Jaguars fell behind the Giants 21-0, but thanks in large part to a couple of fumble returnd for scores and a last-minute FG, Jacksonville pulled out a 25-24 come-from-behind victory that pushed their record to 2-10. And with Jacksonville losing, Tampa Bay and Tennessee will move up into the 2nd and 3rd picks respectively this coming week, while Jacksonville will drop to 4th. However, because the Jets, which had the 5th pick coming into the week, don't play until Monday night, the rest of the early part of the draft selection order won't be known until then.
• (10:00 AM): College title games set ... It will be champiosnhip week in college football this coming weekend with the major conferences set to play their title games with the 4 national championship playoff spots also on the line. The Pac-12 will kick-off the weekend on Friday night when Oregon play Arizona at 9 PM ET on Fox. In that one the Ducks will have the opportunty to avenge their lone regular-season loss. Then on Saturday, Alabama will play Missouri in the SEC final in Atlanta at 4 PM on CBS, while the ACC and Big Ten title contests go head-to-head at 8 PM. Defending national champs Florida State will defend their ACC crown against Georgia Tech on ABC, while Ohio State plays resurgent Wisconsin on Fox. The Buckeyes will have to do without star QB J.T. Barrett who broke his ankle in the team's win over Michigan. Ohio State, of course, has also been without junior QB Braxton Miller, their original starter who was lost for the year early in the season. The Big XII will also decide its champion on Saturday when Baylor hosts Kansas State at 7:45 on ESPN. A win by Baylor and they take the conference crown, while a K-State victory would hand the title to TCU, assuming the Horned Frogs hold serve against lowly Iowa State earlier in the day. Meanwhile, Northern Illinois will play Bowling Green for the MAC title at 7 PM on Friday on ESPN, while Boise State has a chance to get a major bowl invite when they play Fresno State in the Mountain West title on Saturday at 10 PM on CBS. The CUSA championship will be decided at noon on Saturday when 11-1 Marshall hosts Louisiana Tech on ESPN2. And while nothing is written in stone its appears that Oregon, Alabama and Florida State are each guaranteed one of the 4 spots in the national playoff format if they win their conference championship games. The 4th and final spot though will be up for grabs between Ohio State and either or both of Baylor and TCU of the Big XII if those teams all win. There could also be a very interesting situation for the playoff committee if both the Big XII teams win and Ohio State loses. Baylor would be the Big XII champion courtesy of its win over TCU earlier in the season, but the Horned Frogs have consistently been ahead of the Bears in recent rankings. Stay tuned
• (12:01 AM): Battle for top pick continues ... A week after moving back into the #1 pick in the 'if the draft were held today' selection order for the 2015 draft, Jacksonville may have a chance at a second win this year as the Jaguars host the disappointing 3-8 Giants, who have lost 6 straight - in one of today's early games. Meanwhile, Oakland, which got its first win of the year last week, will be St. Louis, while Tampa Bay, which have the 3rd pick were the draft held this week, hosts AFC North leading Cincinnati. Elsewhere, #4 Tennessee will be back in Houston to play the Texans, while the Jets, which would have the 5th pick this week, will be hosting Miami and #6 Washington will be at Indianapolis. As usual, the current selection order for this year's draft will be updated after Monday night's game.

• (9:00 AM): Buckeye DE suspended; likely headed to draft … Ohio State junior DE Noah Spence has been permanently suspended by the NCAA. Spence was originally suspended by Ohio State earlier this season after he reportedly failed drug test. Because it was not the first time Spence had failed a drug test at Ohio State the NCAA got involved. The 6-2, 255-pound Spence was a high school All-American who had 8 sacks for OSU as a sophomore in 2013. He is considered to be a potential mid-round prospect for the upcoming draft with his best fit at the next level likely as a 3-4 OLB, although the drug issue will almost certainly affect his final grade.
• UCLA QB hints at pro turn ... Speaking on Monday's "The Jim Rome Show" UCLA junior QB Brett Hundley suggested that he has pretty well decidedto enter the 2015 draft. Hundley indicated that he had done everything he wanted to at the school including getting a degree and is ready to move on. Despite an up-and-down season, the athletic Hundley is still considered to be a potential late-first or early second round prospect for the upcoming draft.

• (12:01 AM): Stamps, Ti-Cats to meet for CFL title … Calgary and Hamilton will play for the Canadina league championship in the 102nd edition of the Grey Cup game in Vancouver next Sunday evening. Calgary, which at 15-3 had the CFL's best regular season record this fall, dispatched Edmonton 43-18 in an all-Aberta western final on Sunday, while Hamilton romped over Montreal 40-24 in the eastern title game. In fact, it will be championship weekend in Canadian football as McMaster and the University of Montreal will play for the Vanier Cup, awarded annually to the Canadian college champion, in Montreal on Saturday at 1 PM ET with coverage provided by Sportsnet.

• (4:15 PM): Jags reclaim top pick ... Jacksonville will regain the #1 in the proverbial ‘if the draft were held this week’ first-round selection order for the 2015 draft after losing in Indianapolis in one of today's early game. Jacksonville is tied with Oakland at 1-11 after the Raiders won their first game of the year on Thursday night, but the Jaguars have the tie breaker because they ave a considerably weaker strength of schedule than Oakland. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay and Tennessee will stay in the 3rd and 4th picks respectively, after they both also lost their games today. However, the remaining picks won't be set until after Monday night's rescheduled game between the Jets and Buffalo in Detroit tomorrow night. As usual, the first-round selection order for this year’s draft will be updated after Monday night’s games.
• (12:01 AM):<Tide WR looks to be okay … Alabama has confirmed that star junior WR Amari Cooper, a top 5-10 prospect for this year’s draft, only suffered a bruised knee during Saturday’s win over D1AA Western Carolina, and likely will play when Alabama plays Auburn in next week‘s Iron Bowl.

• (6:00 PM): Top WR dinged … It was supposed to be breather game, a laugher, but no one in Alabama is exactly laughing at the moment after star junior WR Amari Cooper was hurt in the first half of the Tide’s game with DIA Western Carolina this afternoon. Cooper, a top 5-10 prospect for the upcoming draft, limped to the locker room immediately after and did eventually return to the sidelines later in the game, but did not return to action, although team officials seemed to indicate that he could have played if necessary. Stay tuned.
• That didn’t last long … Just a week after Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon broke LaDainian Tomlinson’s 15-year-old NCAA single-game rushing record with 408 yards in the Badgers’ win over Nebraska, the record was broken again, this time by Oklahoma freshman RB Samaje Perrine. Perrine a 243-pound true freshman, ran for 427 yards and 5 scores against Big XII doormat Kansas. Meanwhile, congratulations to East Carolina WR Justin Hardy, a mid-round prospect for the upcoming draft, who earlier today became the all-time DI career receiving leader with 347 recept

• (9:00 AM): Home-grown talent on NFL rosters ... GBN Chief Scout Pigskin Paul Guillemette follows up an eralier report on the roster breakdown of teams across the NFL with some additional numbers on the percentage original draft picks and undrafted free agents make on each team's roster.
• (12:01 AM): Raiders win! Raiders win! #1 could move … They finally were able to break out the bubbly in Oakland as the Raiders ended a year-long losing streak with a 24-20 win over Kansas City when rookie QB Derek Carr hit WR James Jones with a 9-yard TD pass with less than 2 minutes to play. And while the 1-10 Raiders still have the worst record in the league, 1-9 Jacksonville would tie Oakland with a loss this weekend. The Jaguars are in Indianapolis on Sunday and with a loss would move into the #1 pick in the 2015 were it to be held next week because Jacksonville has a much weaker strength of schedule than Oakland.

• (12:01 AM): Draft goes prime time ... The first overall pick at the 2015 draft will be front and center later this evening when Oakland, the NFL's last remaining winless team which would have the #1 pick were the draft held this week, hosts Kansas City in the Thursday night game at 8:30 PM ET on the NFL Network.
• That didn't take long ... The lineup hasn't even been set for college football's inaugural 4-team playoff, but already a major player is calling for the current system to be expanded. ACC commissioner John Swofford was quoted as saying that he thinks that 'an 8-team playoff would probably be ideal.” Needless to say it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that if there were five major college football conferences, but only 4 playoff spots, somebody was going to get left out. However, it appears that the powers that be that run college football didn't make enough rocket science classes in their day! In fact, with both Alabama and Mississippi State of the SEC West in this week's top 4 in the playoff rankings, two conferences - the Big Ten and Big XII - find themselves looking in from the outside and needing help to get their respective champion into the post-season that means something.

• Florida DE likely headed to draft ... Nothing official yet, but Florida junior DE Dante Fowler, a mid-to-late first-round prospect, has been tweeting in the past couple of days that he will be leaving school this winter and entering the 2015 draft in the wake of the announcement that Gators' head coach Will Muschamp would not be returning next season.
• USC CB Re-instated ... Southern California has re-instated embattled CB Josh Shaw after local police revealed their will be no charges from his escapade last August when he fabricated a story to explain how he suffered two high ankle sprains as a result of jumping from the balcony of his third-story apartment following an argument with his girlfriend. Shaw had initially told USC officials that the injury when he leapt from a balcony in an effort to save his drowning nephew. That story quickly became a national story before Shaw admitted he had made it up. Shaw, a tweener CB/S who had been considered to be a likely late round prospect for the 2015 draft, will have a couple of games and a bowl to impress scouts.
• Saints, Cards IR early picks … On further review, New Orleans has been forced to place rookie WR Brandin Cooks on injured reserve because of a broken thumb. The original diagnosis was the Cooks, the Saints first-round pick this year, would only be out 2-4 weeks, but the injury was more severe than first thought. Cooks ends his reasonably productive rookie year with 53 catches for 550 yards and 3 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Arizona has placed rookie TE Troy Niklas on season-ending injured reserve because of a severely sprained ankle. Niklas, the 52nd player selected at the 2014 draft, played in 7 games this fall and had three receptions

• (2:00 PM): Vols ILB under investigation for sexual assault ... Tennessee MLB A.J. Johnson, one of the top prospects at the position for the 2015 draft, is reportedly one of two Vols'players being investigated for the sexual assault of a female student over the weekend.
• (11:30 AM): Big Ten DE dismissed … Michigan DE Frank Clark, who had been considered to be a mid-round prospect for the 2015 draft, has been kicked off the team after he was arrested over the weekend and charged with domestic violence stemming from an incident with his girlfriend.
• (12:01 AM): Monday niter has top 5 impact ... There won't be any change to the first three picks in this week's first-round selection order for the 2015 were it to be held this week as Oakland, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay would have the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks respectively. The 4-5 picks, though, won't be decided until after tonight's Monday night game between Pittsburgh and Tennessee. A Titans' win over Pittsurgh and the Jets will have the 4th pick and Tennessee the 5th; however, if the Titans lose to the Steelers they would move up to the 4th pick with the Jets dropping down to #5. As usual, the opening round selection order for the 2015 draft will be updated after the Monday night game.

• (5:00 PM): Torn ACL confirmed for star UGA RB … Georgia has confirmed that star junior RB Todd Gurley tore an ACL late in yesterday's 34-7 win over Auburn and will miss the rest of the year. Gurley, who had been considered to be a top 5-10 prospect for the upcoming draft, is still expected to turn pro this winter, but the injury will clearly impact his draft status. Given that the recovery period for such an injury is usually 6-9 months at a minimum, Gurley likely will likely not be able to participate in any pre-draft workouts and very possibly may not even be ready to start the 2015 season. Gurley had just made his return from a 4-game suspension for accepting improper benefits from the sale of autographs and other sports memorabilia last evening in the Bulldogs’ resounding 34-7 win over Auburn. Certainly, there will be some questions for the Georgia staff whether Gurley really needed to have carried the ball 29 times after having not played for a month; there may be an even larger question as to why he was even in the game with the Bulldogs up by 4 scores with just over 5 minutes to play.
• (10:30 AM): Noles win; Top OT moves inside to C ... Florida State became the only remianing unbeaten team in college football last night when the Seminoles rallied yet again to defeat intrastate rival Miami 30-26 on a late TD after Mississppi State had lost to Alabama in a late afternoon game. The college football playoff rankings for this week won't be announced until Tuesday evening, but there is a better than even chance that the top 4 spots in the playoff rankings this week will be held by Florida State, Alabama, Oregon and Mississippi State, with Texas Christian, Baylor and Ohio State lurkin in the next three positions. One interesting note from Florida State's win over Miami was that the Seminoles shifted Cameron Erving, a second-round OT prospect for the 2015 draft, from LT to C during the week. In fact, Erving played very well in the middle against the Hurricanes which will just add to the value of his grade for the upcoming draft.
• Husker DE dinged ... There is still nothing from Nebraska about the extent of the injury suffered by star junior DE Randy Gregory is yesterday's dismal loss at Wisconsin. Gregory, a potential top 5 pick for the upcoming draft, was helped off the field late in the game with an apparent ankle or leg injury. In that game, Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon, who is arguably the #2 rated back for the 2015 draft behind UGA’s Gurley, broke LaDainian Tomlinson’s single-game NCAA rushing record when he tore up the Nebraska defense for 408 yards and 4 scores and didn’t even play in the 4th quarter with the game well in hand. For the record, Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah, a second-round prospect for the upcoming draft who strained an MCL a couple of weeks ago, gave it a go, but clearly wasn’t 100% and also did not play not play in the 4th quarter.

• (7:30PM): LSU RB done for rest of regular sked … LSU RB Kenny Hilliard reportedly will miss the final two games of the regular season because of a shoulder injury suffered in last weekend’s loss to Alabama. Hilliard, a late-round or free agent prospect for 2015 draft, has rushed for 430 yards and 5 scores as a situational back for the Tigers this fall.
• Duck C could sit two weeks … The school hasn’t said anything officially, but according to teammates, Oregon C Hroniss Grasu, one of the top 2-3 prospects at the position for the 2014 draft, will miss a couple of weeks as a result of an unspecified leg injury suffered last weekend. The 2nd ranked Ducks have a bye this week and hope to have Grasu back for Pac-12 conference championship game the first week of December.

• (12:01 AM): New mock posted ... With less than 170 days to go until the 2015 draft, the GBN first-round projection has been updated. And while we are also happy to hear people's comments, please keep in mind that the chances that we hit on many particular picks this far out from the draft are slim to none; indeed, the real value of any mock at this point in the exercise is not which players get assigned to any individual teams, but where players are grouped. Also if the latest projection doesn't come up, please hit refresh or reload as some servers cache older versions and don't always update.

• Jags IR second rounder … Jacksonville has placed rookie WR Allen Robinson on injured reserve after fracturing his foot in Sunday’s 31-17 loss to Dallas at Wembley Stadium in London. Robinson, the Jaguars’ second round pick at the 2014 draft, leads the team with 48 receptions.
• Gator DT stays booted … Florida DT Leon Orr will not be allowed to rejoin the squad after he left the team prior to last Saturday’s game with Vanderbilt. Orr, a senior who is rated as a late-round or free agent prospect for the 2015 draft, was expecting to start the Vanderbilt game, but when he was told he would not, he left the team and literally took the bus home. Orr reportedly had hoped to talk with the Florida coaches this week about a second chance, but head coach Will Muschamp confirmed that he would not be allowed back.

• Heisman contenders and pretenders profiled … With the college football season heading into the final 3-4 weeks of the regular schedule, GBN head scout and primo college football observer and analyst weighs in with some thoughts on the race to win this year’s Heisman Trophy.
• Top Terp WR likely done for year with internal injury … It appears that Maryland junior WR Stefon Diggs could be done for the year after he reportedly suffered a lacerated kidney in the Terps game at Penn State this past week. Diggs, who is second in the Big Ten in catches per game and fifth in receiving yards per game, is considered to be a second day prospect for the 2015 draft and should be ready for pre-darft workouts if he in fact opts to turn pro this winter.
• Pair of Dukies get extra year … Duke got some positive news in that both MLB Kelby Brown and TE Braxton Deaver have been granted medical hardship years by the NCAA and will return to school for a 6th year of eligibility in 2015. Both were All-ACC players last fall and were considered to be at potential late round prospects, but both suffered torn ACLs this past August after both also missed the entire 2012 season with earlier injuries. In fact, it’s the third torn ACL for Brown who had 114 tackles last fall, while the 6-5, 245-pound Deaver had a breakout year in 2013 when he caught 46 passes for 600 yards and 4 scores.
• Senior bowl announces first players … You know things are starting to move on when the Senior Bowl begins to announce players who have accepted invitations to this year’s game. That happened yesterday when the Senior Bowl announced that East Carolina QB Shane Carden, along with his favorite target in WR Justin Hardy will be in Mobile for this year‘s game. Other seniors who have accepted invitations include Northern Iowa RB David Johnson, Iowa DT Carl Davis, Utah DE Nate Orchard, LBs Geno Grissom of Oklahoma and Mike Hull of Penn State, safeties Kurt Drummond of Michigan State, Iowa’s Adrian Amos, and Jaquiski Tartt of Samford, along with Navy LS Joe Cardona. This year’s Senior Bowl will be played January  24th at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile with practices scheduled to begin on the previous Tuesday.

• (12:01 AM): Big Board, positional rankings tweaked … The GBN Big Board ranking of the top 150 or so prospects for the 2015 draft has been updated as have the positional rankings.
• Ducks dinged in Utah … Oregon got out of Utah on Saturday with its one-loss record intact with a 51-27 win over the 20th ranked Utes. Unfortunately, for the Ducks, though, they didn’t get out of town without anyone getting banged up. In fact, Oregon lost as many as three starters to injury including at least a couple of top prospects for the upcoming draft. C Hroniss Grasu, one of the top 2-3 prospects at the position for this year’s draft, for example, hurt a knee against Utah and could be out a while, while CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, a mid-to-late first round candidate, suffered a toe injury early in the Utah game and left the locker room in a walking boot, but says he hopes to play when the Ducks play Coloardo in two weeks after their bye. Meanwhile, TE Pharaoh Brown remains in hospital in Utah after he suffered a grisly leg injury that almost certainly ended his season.
• Top OT prospect moves right … Interesting move at Texas A&M where star OT Cedric Ogbuehi has been switched from LT back to RT where he played last year as part of a reshuffling to take into an account some injuries. Ogbuehi is considered to be a top 5-10 prospect for the 2015 draft with the unique athleticism for an OT to be the first guy off the board at the position. However, there have been whispers in the scouting community that Ogbuehi hasn’t always played hard this fall and there has been some speculation that the move could have been made by the Aggies’ staff to perhaps send him a message.

• (5:00 PM): Husky CB prospect kicked off team … Washington junior CB Marcus Peters, a leading prospect for the 2015 draft, has been dismissed from the program after a series of off-field missteps this week. Peters was originally suspended for a game earlier this season after arguing with an assistant coach. Then this week he reportedly got into another verbal altercation with coaches on the sidelines during last week’s game against Colorado, then missed practice earlier this week for unknown reasons; and, then got into yet another verbal altercation with an assistant during yesterday’s practice. Prior to the latest incident, Peters ad been considered a potential first-round prospect for the upcoming draft, however, clearly if, as expected, he still enters this year’s draft he will have some major explaining to do in pre-draft interviews.

• (4:00 PM): GBN Top 25 updated ... Now that the playoff selection committee has revised its rankings for asecond week, GBN Chief Scout and official #1 college football fan Pigskin Paul Guillemette has revised his Top 25 after 10 weeks of the college football regular season:
• Martin, Mosley top rooks, Bills top rook team in mid-season draft rankings ... With every team now at least half way through the season, Dallas OG Zach Martin and Baltimore MLB C.J. Mosley were rated the best offensive and defensive rookies respectively by the crack GBN scout staff. At the same time, Buffalo's overall rookie class graded out the best among all teams in the GBN mid-season rookie review.
• Bucs make change at QB … Interesting move in Tampa Bay where the 1-7 Buccaneers will reportedly replace second-year pro Mike Glennon at QB with veteran journeyman Josh McCown who had started the first three games of the season. The move may lead to speculation that the Buccaneers use their first round pick this coming April 30 on a QB; earlier, there had been speculation that Tampa Bay might give Glennon a little more time to develop and use their top pick on another position this year. The Buccaneers would technically have the 4th pick overall were the draft held this week; however, they play a considerably weaker schedule than either Jacksonville or the Jets, the league’s other two one-win teams, and would move up to the 2nd spot if they lose their game in hand.
• Suspended Terp WR could sit longer than week ... There are concerns in Maryland that star junior WR Stefon Diggs, a potential second-day prospect a the 2015 draft, could miss more than the one game he was suspended for by the NCAA for making contact with an official during a scuffle prior to last weekend's game with Penn State. As a result, Diggs will miss Maryland's game with Michigan State in two weeks. To his credit, Diggs has apologized for his actions.
• Vols QB to miss rest of year … Tennessee QB Justin Worley will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. Worley is considered to be a late round or free agent type prospect for the 2015 draft.

• (9:00 AM): Just thinking out loud ... and punting!!! ... Long-time followers of the GBN will now that we tend to stick pretty much with the facts and leave the editorials to others. Everone once in a while, though, we get our danders up about this or that in the world of football and have our say. That's the case this darkish morning as GBN Chief Scout Paul Guillemette has some thoughts on a couple of developments over the weekend in this week's Scouts Notebook.
• Nation's leading passer indeed done for the year ... Washington State has confirmed that QB Connor Halliday, the national leader in passing yards, will miss the rest of the year with a fractured leg suffered early in the Cougars‘ game with Southern California this past weekend..

• (7:30 PM):: No changes in weekly draft order ... Oakland gave it the old college try up in Seattle against the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks, but in the end came up short again to drop to 0-8. As a result, the Raiders only remaining winless team will hang onto the #1 pick overall for the 2015 draft were it to be held this week. In fact, there won't be any changes to this week's top 6 picks That's because Jacksonville, the New York Jets, and Tampa Bay, which would have had the 2nd, 3rd and 4th picks respectively entering the week, all lost, while Tennessee and Atlanta, which had the 5th and 6th picks respectively, had their byes. Indeed, the earliest change so far sees Washington move up to the 7th pick after losing a close in Minnesota, while it looks like Chicago will have the 8h pick. The remaining opening round selection order, though, won't be determined until after the Sunday and Monday night games.

• (7:00 PM): College injuries of note … Star Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah reportedly suffered a mild MCL knee sprain early in today’s game with Purdue. Abdullah, a second-day prospect for the 2015 draft, had been averaging over 155 rushing yards per game coming into today’s game. No word yet though on how long Abdullah will miss, but team officials are hopeful he’ll be okay for the Huskers’ big game with Wisconsin in two weeks; Nebraska has a bye next week.
• Spartan QB leaning to return to college ... Michigan State junior QB Connor Cook reportedly told a number of local media outlets that he plans to return to school for the 2015 season. However, Cook did still leave the door open to entering the 2015 draft if there were special circumstances. And while he didn't spell those out, Cook hinted that they might include if he got a really high grade from the NFL's special draft advisory committee, or if perhaps Michigan State went on to win the national championship. Cook is generally considered to be a rising prospect in the 2015 draft with late first-round potential, but most scouts also tend to feel that there are still some holes in his game and that he would benefit from another year at the college level.
