Peters,
Washington, 5-11, 200,
4.50, JR … Ball-hawking underclassmen
with top 10-15 physical skills, but also
comes with plenty of character red flags; in fact, was dismissed from
the team
late this season after getting into a series of verbal altercations
with members
of the Husky’s coaching staff and will have to address questions about
his
maturity during re-draft interviews; on the field is a good-sized
corner with
long arms, decent speed and outstanding ball skills; physical cover
corner who
is most effective in press coverage; is very effective rerouting
receivers coming
off the line of scrimmage, but will grab and clutch at times; can also
flip his
hips transitioning out of the break, although his footwork isn’t always
the
smoothest; also has good, but not necessarily great recovery speed;
understands
routes and is a very instinctive player who can find the ball when it
is in the
air; also has good balance and body control and is very aggressive when
the
ball is in the air; had 11 career picks before being kicked off the
team; also
an aggressive run defender who had 129 career tackles; in fact, other
than the
character red flags, main issue with Peters in that he tends to walk a
fine
line between aggression and over-aggression and will take chances
jumping
routes that can end up going for big yardage the other way. If you have comments or suggestions, e-mail the editor at clindsc555@rogers.com; the GBN can also be reached by phone at (613) 692-1088; or regular mail at 320 Shadehill Cres., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; K2J 0L6.
